About the Community of Practice

A space for economics educators to exchange ideas on generative AI — from early-stage classroom experiments to mature assessment redesign.

Purpose

The Generative AI in Economics Education CoP brings together lecturers, researchers, and practitioners who are exploring how generative AI changes teaching, learning, and assessment in economics. The primary meeting format is a regular online seminar series. Offers to present are welcome at early or late stages of development.

Seminars typically run on Microsoft Teams and start at 2pm London time. Session links are shared with people on the membership mailing list.

CTaLE affiliation

This Community of Practice sits under the Centre for Teaching and Learning Economics (CTaLE). The official CTaLE CoP page remains the institutional reference (its listed leadership may lag). This site is the organisers' editable home for the live programme and join requests.

Leadership

The CoP is currently co-organised by Antonio Mele (LSE), Carlos Cortinhas (University of Exeter), and Jana Sadeh (University of Southampton).

We thank Petar Stankov (Royal Holloway), who previously led the CoP and shaped its seminar culture.
